The standard training to become an official electrician requires at least three years of work experience and practical training, through employment or apprenticeship, for a total of 8,000 hours. This should be combined with technical, safety and theoretical training in the classroom. It takes four to five years to become an electrician. Students acquire all the skills during the learning program and can improve their skills as they continue to work.
It takes 5 to 6 years to become a fully certified (official) electrician.
